Why is our balance so easily disrupted?

Modern life offers us many conveniences, making our lives easier and more comfortable as time goes by. Almost everything is easily accessible and consumable. However, along with the positive aspects, there are also negative consequences.

Today, we will discuss the reasons behind the disruption of our mental and physical well-being due to the hectic pace of modern life, the need for everything to be fast-paced and urgent, particularly in terms of food:

Changing climate conditions, work conditions, increasing population, industrialization, pesticide use, and many other factors are diminishing the nutritional value of our fruits, vegetables, grains, meat, and dairy products.

Even the most natural sources contain significantly fewer beneficial compounds compared to earlier times. This often leads to unnecessary calorie intake in our bodies.

To provide an example, previously, you could obtain the beneficial contents of one apple, whereas now you may need to consume approximately ten apples to achieve the same effect. Many of us don’t have the time to research the components or contents of what we consume, rightfully opting for the quickest solution and a food that will temporarily satisfy us.

However, even if we manage to find the most natural and high-quality versions of everything, with access to every truly beneficial food grown on Earth, we still face a pitfall. In attempting to consume what is deemed healthy, such as a daily serving of salmon, a mix of plant and animal proteins, some healthy fats from nuts, along with fruits and vegetables, we would need to consume amounts beyond what is feasible.

When we add in occasional indulgences and reaching for things that bring comfort during difficult days, we end up with a significant surplus of calories.

As a result, we attempt to eliminate this excess by following new diets that emerge daily. This leads us to consume artificially inflated diet foods, protein powders with added additives, food supplements, handfuls of vitamins, and so-called “healthy” foods that have had their sugar removed and been replaced with sweeteners.

Unfortunately, many of these trendy supplements, protein and smoothie powders, sugar-free bars presented as diet snacks, do more harm than good to our bodies.

In fact, when we examine their labels, we discover they are filled with thickening agents, carcinogenic additives, and sweeteners like stevia that cause our insulin levels to spike.

Alternatively, we might start using a multivitamin that contains a mix of various substances. However, while our bodies need certain components, others are unnecessary, thus once again throwing off the balance.

For instance, we have all learned about processed foods and try to avoid them, yet we do not hesitate to consume these supplements that are essentially no different.

Consequently, this leaves lasting damage to our nervous and hormonal systems, as well as our digestion through our intestines, requiring significant effort to reverse.

Inadvertently, we disrupt our overall balance in this manner. In a disrupted system, it is not possible to have a resilient body, maintain a healthy weight, or generally feel well.

The solution varies for each individual, but it primarily involves understanding stress and trying to manage it with the help of nature, reverting to old and traditional dietary methods, and truly listening to our bodies and minds.

How can we achieve this? How can we restore our bodies to a state of balance? We will continue discussing these topics in our upcoming articles.
