Simplifying Life

Nov 16, 2024

How does your life look like right now?

If you feel scattered and exhausted, unable to make any plans or follow through on the plans you do make, small changes may be the solution to calming down the chaos around you, even if the reasons are beyond your control.

Although teachings about simplifying life and living simpler, simpler lives are always around us, the stress of our time, the consumerism, the effort to be perfect and keep up with everything make it difficult to live simply.

So, our duty is to adapt what is known about simplifying life to modern times and integrate it into our lives.

We always believe that small but determined steps can lead to big changes over time. Especially when it comes to simplifying life, these easy to implement small steps, when implemented regularly, will suddenly make life easier, first in our head and then in our surroundings.

Let's take a look at these steps that we can most easily integrate into our time and rush:

*Be realistic about the goals you set, what you will do for the day and your priorities. Try not to put a burden on yourself that you cannot do and end the day unhappy about it.

*Do not accumulate unused items in your home; donating items and clothes that have been given as gifts, worn out or piled up, stuffed in closets and forgotten about will be much better than feeling like you will definitely need them one day.

*Keep only clothes in your wardrobe that fit you and that you feel good in.

*Try to own less in general; this will give you more freedom, space and time than you can imagine. It will also contribute to nature and the world.

*Keep your mind and your surroundings tidy,

* Have small routines to help you relax before going to bed at night and to help you start your day in the morning.

*Try to be organized and planned, and try to concentrate by consciously removing useless thoughts and worries that wander around your mind while dealing with a task. This will give you time and calmness.

*Be realistic about your diet, exercise routines, and expectations from your body. Try not to follow a long-term exercise or diet program that will disappoint you when you fail.

*Plan your meals in advance, if possible the day before, if not, at the beginning of the day.

* Create a simple routine for your household chores; plan the tasks that need to be done daily, weekly, monthly, and proceed according to the plan without constantly straining your mind.

*Try to let go of things that make you sad and pull you down, search your mind for solutions, if you don't have a solution at that moment, distance yourself from that thought.

*Invest only in relationships that are important to you and make a difference in your life.

*Learn to say no and be firm about it.

*Clean your phone of clutter like your home and mind, delete applications you don't use, messages and photos you don't need. Unsubscribe from e-mail lists that don't interest you.

* Sit in silence for even a few minutes a day and rest without feeling guilty.

And most importantly, as with everything else, try not to put too much pressure on yourself.

Start by choosing a few of these items first and progress as you go.

Remember that the most important rule for making life beautiful is to have compassion for yourself.
